More Blogging Ideas
I just read an email from Susan in Iran. In it she thanked everyone in the webblogging class for their help. I certainly agree! I learn something every time I read what others in this group are doing, and appreciate the work of all the leaders. Susan wondered if they have more that 24 hours in their day. It seems that they must have:)
I have been thinking about how to use blogs in the next class I teach, which is a graduate class about reading in the middle school. Sergei suggested I do something like "Holiday Shots." I wish I was better at thinking up clever names like that!
I thought about having the students take a picture of a stuffed animal or mascot and tell about what it means to them. Maybe I can think of an inviting title for that project.
Another idea, which is too technically difficult for me to incorprate into my blog at this time, comes from the KIDPROJ@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU listserv. The Beeler Elementary School wrote in to say that they used Skype: http://www.skype.com/, free Internet telephone software, in their Grandparent Story Time. Because the service is free, grandparents can call in from anywhere in the world and read or tell a story to the class. This sounds like an excellent use of technology in education!
